The 2023 symposium focused on the four “C”s of 21st-century education: collaboration, 沟通, 创造力, 批判性思维. The symposium began with a keynote presentation at noon featuring Matthew Aucoin (研究生文凭 ’14, 作文), Donald Borror (BFA ' 10, 舞蹈), 和Zack Winokur (BFA ' 12), 舞蹈). The keynote presentation was then followed by six different sessions throughout the day. Session were led by the following alumni and industry leaders: Erik Christian Peterson (BM ’04, 中提琴); Emily Duncan (MM ’18, flute) and Gloria Yin; Lisa Spector (BM ’83, 钢琴声); Amy Stafford (BFA ’06, 戏剧); Gabrielle Salvatto (BFA ' 11), 舞蹈), 克拉拉超细, and Alyah Baker; and Oskar Yao (BCJ exchange ’13; MM ’16, 钢琴声). Zoom links to each session were provided in the program and attendees were welcome to jump around to different sessions occurring simultaneously. All were encouraged to take notes and ask questions as they learned to define the 21st century in the arts.
 

The 2022 symposium explored making and defining our artistic careers. With each session, we asked the audience: How do we survive as artists? 我们如何按照自己的方式创造成功? 我们如何为他人创造空间，让他们与我们一起茁壮成长? 与会者探讨了关键问题, 技术, and practices that allow them to find professional opportunities and 制定一条新的前进道路.

Section Description: The impact that COVID-19 had on the entertainment industry left many artists wondering how they could restart their journey. 我们在创造力中找到了希望, 随着世界开始进入正常状态, 我们期待着进一步提升自己和我们的使命. 作为艺术家，我们是企业家, and we continue to find innovative ways to move our passions forward.  This virtual symposium was a special cross-industry conversation with Juilliard alumni and Fendi leadership where they shared their knowledge and offered real-world examples of how innovation and entrepreneurship are tied to creative success, 帮助我们的观众进一步发展他们的职业生涯.

The keynote presentation was led by Andrea Miller (BFA ’04, 舞蹈), Ulysses Owens Jr. (BM ’06, 爵士乐研究), and FENDI Americas President Joanna Dubin; afternoon breakout sessions were led by Anthony Barfield (BM '08, 长号)和芬迪的营销副总裁 & 通信, Tenley Zinke; Arnaud Sussmann (BM '05, MM '07, 小提琴); and Armando Braswell (BFA ’06, 乔安妮·塔克(38组), 戏剧).

The session on June 24 was entitled 首页 Recording Studios and focused on demonstrating how to create a home recording studio and achieve optimal sound for virtual lessons, 听力磁带, 或者绩效项目. The session featured voice-over actor Amy Ward Stafford (Group 35), 联合创始人刘丽莎(96年毕业), BM '00, MM '02, 小提琴), 以及格莱美奖获奖录音工程师布拉德·海内尔. The keynote discussion was moderated by freelance violinist and music producer Annelise Wiering.

The session on June 25 was entitled Advocacy in 创业 and explored how artists support their beliefs through entrepreneurial endeavors. Nigel Campbell (BFA ' 08)也加入了会议, 和Chanel DaSilva(2008届BFA), 舞蹈), who co-founded MOVE NYC with the mission of cultivating greater diversity and equity within the dance profession and beyond. In our inaugural symposium we aimed to connect recent alumni to expanded resources in the areas of audience development, 市场营销/网络, 编程, 以及表演艺术的法律问题.  The symposium included a keynote discussion with New York Philharmonic Creative Partner Nadia Sirota (BM ’04, MM ’06, viola; ’08 Academy) followed by lunch and four 30-minute breakout sessions on individual topics with alumni including Victoria Pollack (Group 46, 戏剧), Aaron Severini (BM ' 15, MM ’17, 作文), 尤利西斯·欧文斯(2006届mba, 爵士乐研究), 和艾米·雷曼, 收.他是艺术志愿律师组织的法律服务主管.
